Failure to maintain safe distance leads to car accident

Drivers are required to maintain an "assured clear distance" from the vehicles in front of them. What this means is that a distance between two vehicles traveling in the same lane must be enough so that if the first vehicle were to stop or begin moving at a slower speed, the vehicle in the rear would have enough time to also stop or slow down in order to avoid a collision.

2 people die in a crash caused by a driver running a red light

Two people died in a recent Ohio accident when the car they were driving in was hit by a teenage driver who ran a red light. While all deaths in car accidents are tragedies, this one is especially difficult because the teen who caused the fatal accident had been in another accident just an hour before -- but wasn't apprehended or otherwise cited for that accident.

Running stop sign causes multicar accident with injuries

A driver ran a stop sign recently at the intersection of U.S. 62 and Ohio 661, causing a multi-vehicle car accident and injuries to six people. The driver of a Ford F-150 pickup traveling southbound on Ohio 661 ran the stop sign, colliding with another pickup traveling eastbound on U.S. 62.

Wrongful death suit settled when man dies after hospital release

Most people expect that when they receive treatment at a hospital they won't be released until they have fully recovered from their illness or injury. Not so for an Ohio man, whose family recently settled a $500,000 wrongful death lawsuit with a medical center.
